Sports Coaching & Activity Leadership

Offering individuals the chance to gain a broad knowledge of the active leisure industry, the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning provides a route into a career as a fitness instructor, activity leader or coach.

The course, which runs over a period of seven to nine months, is structured around providing a learning programme for those who already work within the sports sector and wish to gain further skills and knowledge to progress their careers. However, it is still available for those without any previous experience.

Roles and responsibilities covered by this framework tend to be more community based, and apprentices will be employed to coach in the community and in local schools as activity leaders or sports coaches.
